Why do I read things that wind me up late at night? First, some Milo Yiannopoulos and then the new Roger Scruton interview in Spiked. The whole thing can be read…

  • The rather Sisyphean alphabetising process is, for now, restored. I only let it go for a couple of months and that was all it took for it to get sufficiently out of control that at least an hour was required to bring back order... #vinyl #vinylcollection #vinylcommunity #musiccollection #recordstorage

  • Was there ever a time as good as the 1970s for songwriting and recording? So many talented people and not just hustlers wanting to be famous. This is a brilliant album on A&M, produced by the wonderful Ken Scott, and with plenty of exceptional guests, including Deniece Williams. I’ve been marvelling, also, at the lovely arrangements. I look at the credits and see names like Richard Hewson, Johnny Pate and David Paich and it all makes sense. That label had its fair share of gifted singer/songwriters who didn’t quite break through and another one well worth looking up is Cheryl Dilcher. #davidbatteau #batteaux #happyinhollywood #deniecewilliams #kenscott #aandm #aandmrecords #cheryldilcher #richardhewson #davidpaich #johnnypate

  • Charing X Rd. Every time I’m here I mourn the days when its intersection with Oxford Street and Tottenham Ct Rd was just a normal intersection and not an everlasting, never-ending building site.
