RnR Magazine allowed me the indulgence of writing about the way a particular piece of music entwined itself around my adolescent life as part of its ‘It Started With A Disc’ series. There were several options, all of which would have been enjoyable to explore, but none clamoured quite so vociferously as Carly Simon’s Spy (Elektra, 1979).
